How to prune jade trees to make them look good

After pruning the jade plant, you should water it according to the principle of gradually drying and wetting, and do not throw away the cut leaves. After pruning and drying for 2 days, the survival rate of cuttings using sterilized coal slag or river sand is very high.

Jade tree pruning method

The pruning time of jade plant is relatively flexible, but it is best to prune it between April and September each year. Do not prune it in mid-summer and late summer, especially when the light is too strong, the temperature is too high or the winter is cold.

If you want to trim the jade plant to make it look good, just cut off the leaves at the bottom to leave an independent trunk, and trim the top slightly to keep a tree-shaped crown.

Precautions for pruning jade trees

1. Before pruning:

Before pruning the jade plant every time, you need to pay attention to the local temperature. If the temperature is higher than 35 degrees or lower than 5 degrees, you cannot prune it to avoid causing the death of the plant.

2. When pruning:

First of all, if you want the jade plant to grow thicker, then when pruning, you should focus on its diseased branches, weak branches, and crossed branches. This will not only make the plant fuller, but also reduce nutrient consumption and accelerate the growth of branches and leaves.

3. After pruning:

After each pruning, it is necessary to place it in a ventilated environment in time and give it more sunlight. It is not acceptable to be exposed to rain or spray water on the leaves of the jade plant. If you want to heal its wounds quickly and avoid bacterial infection, you can also apply carbendazim solution to its wounds to speed up recovery.
