1. The time for picking bags must be appropriatePicking the apples too early will result in poor greening and coloring. Delayed bagging will directly lead to poor coloring. Generally, the best time to bag the apples is when they have been growing in the paper bags for about 120 days. I think it should be at least 110 days before it is a suitable time period for bagging. Generally, when apples are picked from bags, the weather is already cool, and sunscald and drought are basically not likely to occur, so there is no need to irrigate in advance. In addition, rainfall is still relatively frequent at this time, so just grasp the reasonable time to pick the bags. During the day, the time for picking bags is generally from 7:30 in the morning to 11:30 in the afternoon, and from 2:30 or 3 in the afternoon to around 7 or 8 in the evening. The high temperature period at noon must be avoided, and no one does this. 2. Reasonably cut off the extra branches and leaves to speed up the coloringGenerally, the branches and leaves that need to be pruned are weak and thin branches, upright branches, and branches and leaves near the apple fruits that affect the coloring. All of them need to be pruned during the bag removal process. It is recommended to use apple tree scissors to do this. 3. The order of picking bags cannot be messed upNow they are all double-layer paper bags. First remove the outer layer of kraft paper, and the red wax paper inside should be left on the apple tree to ensure coloring, which will take about 5 to 7 days. Then remove the layer of wax paper inside, clean it while taking it out, and finally lay the reflective film. Therefore, the correct order is outer layer of kraft paper - inner layer of red wax paper - reflective film. From the order of picking bags inside the whole apple tree, it is first top and then bottom, first inside and then outside. During the process of removing bags, the branches and leaves that affect coloring mentioned in point 2 should be trimmed off in time. 4. The soil moisture in the apple orchard should not be moist before and after bagging, but should be moderately dry.It is all about coloring the apples, don’t irrigate before or after bagging, that is the wrong approach. In addition, many apples are now planted on hillsides without irrigation conditions, so the soil moisture conditions are relatively good, slightly dry, which is more conducive to the coloring of the apples. 5. Leaf picking and reasonable fruit rotationPicking leaves was mentioned in the second point above, and the purpose of turning the fruits is also for coloring. Especially during and after laying the reflective film, the fruits must be turned gently to prevent the apples from falling. If they accidentally fall, our rural home in Pingliang, Gansu, will combine these "white apples" one or two, or two or three together and put them in a transparent plastic bag. Then hang it on the tree, closest to the reflective film, so that the coloring will not be affected. Some fruit farmers will simply leave the fruits that accidentally fall on the trees, but I think this is not a good idea. It is better to put them in plastic bags to facilitate even coloring. |
