How to grow cardinal coral and how to trim it

How to grow cardinal coral and how to trim it

1. Temperature and humidity

Cardinal coral originally grows in subtropical areas and prefers warm and humid environments. Be sure to keep warm in winter and the temperature should be controlled above 8℃, otherwise it will stop growing. If the climate is relatively dry, you need to spray water regularly to increase the air humidity, which should usually be maintained at around 50-70%.

2. Proper lighting

Cardinal coral has a strong ability to adapt to light, but it cannot be exposed to light for a long time, nor can it be completely deprived of light. You need to move it to its location regularly, put it in a bright place indoors for a period of time, and then put it in the shade outdoors for a period of time. This will allow it to get a certain amount of light and prevent the plant from growing too tall.

3. Proper watering

The growth of cardinal coral cannot be separated from sufficient water. Since spring, summer and autumn are its peak growth seasons, watering is required frequently in these three seasons, otherwise the plant will grow poorly due to drought and its leaves will turn yellow. But in winter, the plant grows slowly and its water demand decreases, so watering can be reduced appropriately.

4. Reasonable fertilization

When planting the cardinal coral, you need to apply enough base fertilizer to it, which is generally organic fertilizer. During the growing period, appropriate topdressing is also required. Liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer can be used. Liquid fertilizer should be poured on the roots, and compound fertilizer should be watered thoroughly after being buried so that the plant can absorb it better. In addition, fertilization needs to be stopped in winter to avoid damaging the roots.
