When is the best season to divide the pots of Tiger Pilan

When a novice flower grower repots a tiger skin orchid, it is best to do so in spring . In winter, the tiger skin orchid stops growing and accumulates a lot of nutrients in its body.

It is best to divide the pots before the buds sprout in spring. The survival rate is high and the small buds will sprout rapidly after division, and soon the pot of Sansevieria will be full of flowers again.

How to divide the pots of Tiger Pilan to make it easier to grow

First, remove the pot and divide the plant:

The roots of the Sansevieria that has been cared for for many years have filled the entire flowerpot. It is recommended to rinse the planting material directly with tap water when removing it from the pot.

Rinse the roots completely. The underground whip stems of the snake plant are very brittle and can break if pulled casually. Rinse is the best method.

After the roots are flushed out, the roots are pruned first, and the old roots and the overly long roots are pruned. Then, according to your own wishes, the length of the underground whip stems and the number of branches of the ramets are cut off.

The utility knife used for division should be sterilized beforehand, and the cuts should be in place and neat . Put the divided snake plant in a cool and ventilated place to dry the wound until it curls up and shrinks and becomes dry.

Second, planting and management:

The recommended planting material for Sansevieria is a mixture of 1/3 of garden soil, humus soil, and freshwater river sand . When planting, it is suitable to plant shallowly, as long as the planting material can cover the whip stem of Sansevieria by 2 to 3 centimeters.

Shallow planting helps oxygen enter the planting material and speeds up wound healing.

Newly planted tiger lilies do not need to be watered to establish their roots. Just wet the planting material before planting. After planting, spray the leaves 2 to 3 times a day.

About a week after planting, water the plants thoroughly once the roots have been established. For later watering, continue the method of "don't water unless the soil is dry, and water thoroughly if you do." Wait until the planting material is completely dry before watering again .

The planted snake plant should be kept in a cool and ventilated place first. Water it after a week, and then move the pot to a location with scattered light. It can receive about 3 hours of weak light every day.

After maintaining it under diffuse light for about 15 days , it can be placed in a location with sufficient light. Increasing photosynthesis is beneficial to rooting and sprouting of small buds.
