Why do leeks grow thinner and thinner? (Why do leeks grown at home grow smaller and smaller?)

Why do leeks grow thinner and thinner? (Why do leeks grown at home grow smaller and smaller?)

In rural areas, every household grows leeks, mainly because they grow fast and are easy to harvest. They can be used as stews, soups, or seasonings, and there are many ways to eat them. In addition, leeks are easy to grow and manage, and are a common vegetable in rural vegetable gardens.

Although leeks are easy to manage, some people still find that the leeks they grow become thinner and thinner. I have had this experience as well.

When I first started planting leeks, I saw that other people’s leeks were growing particularly vigorously, so I wanted to plant a few pots at home, but the leeks I planted grew thinner and thinner.

In fact, there is a reason why leeks become thinner and thinner as they are cut. It is because we do not take good care of them and do not keep up with the fertilizer and water . Because they are constantly growing, they have to grow again every time we cut them. If they do not get nutrients, there will definitely be problems. Today I will teach you a "little method" to add fertilizer to them.

Choose safe and pollution-free fertilizers. You cannot use chemical fertilizers when eating leeks at home. You can try the following two methods, which will make the leeks become very strong. Eating pollution-free leeks will be more fragrant and taste better.

There are mainly two situations. One is that the plants are grown on the balcony and topdressing is done indoors. The other is that the plants are grown outdoors and topdressing is done in the open air .

1. Indoor topdressing

When we grow chives indoors, it is not advisable to use fertilizers with odor, as the house will be filled with stink after using them.

This will cause serious environmental pollution, so we can buy some fermented bean cake fertilizer. There are also some fermented bean cake fertilizers that are pressed into granules.

No matter which one it is, as long as it is thoroughly fermented, it is fermented with em bacteria or the like, and it has no taste after fermentation.

We can buy some pressed bean cake fertilizer, find an oil barrel, put a handful of fermented bean cake fertilizer, fill it with water, and then put it in the sun for more than 24 hours. It is recommended that you leave it for two or three days.

After that, use this water to water the leeks directly after each harvest, so that our leeks can get sufficient nutrients.

Generally speaking, if you water it once after cutting, it will be able to absorb and grow quickly. After that, you can water it normally. Water it again after the second cutting, so that its root system can grow very strong, and the more you cut, the thicker it will be.

Because the fermented bean cake fertilizer contains high nitrogen content, which promotes its growth, and contains a variety of elements and trace elements. After we use it, its roots will be thicker and its ability to grow will be stronger.

2. Outdoor topdressing

Outdoor topdressing is even simpler. We don’t need to buy ready-made fermented bean cake fertilizer, which is more expensive, so we can find some soybeans ourselves.

If you have a soy milk maker at home, you can directly soak the soybeans, add water (add a little water), and crush it all into soy powder or soy milk.

Because the fermentation speed will be accelerated after crushing, we only need to grind 250 grams of soybeans into soy milk or soy powder, then add two grams of yeast powder, and then add 25 grams of brown sugar.

Yeast powder can accelerate fermentation, and after the brown sugar is fermented, it has a certain effect of strengthening the roots, because after the brown sugar is fermented, there is a kind of sugar in it that is the same as the glucose we know.

It can be quickly absorbed by plants, promoting root growth and making the plants stronger.

Then find a five-liter oil barrel, pour the oil into it, add water, seal the lid, and put it in the sun to ferment. It can be used after 20 to 30 days of fermentation.

Because yeast powder is added, the fermentation speed will be accelerated. If it is not added, it will take two or three months for normal fermentation before it can be used.

If you plant a lot of leeks, you can prepare a few more buckets for fermentation, which is also very good for promoting root growth.

Fertilizers that allow it to grow leaves quickly can make the chives it grows stronger, because these are also purely organic and do not contain any chemical ingredients.

We grow chives at home, and they taste better, and they become thicker as we cut them . We also water them directly after cutting them, and dilute the fermented liquid and water at a concentration of 1:50.

When growing chives or some fast-growing vegetables at home, such as rapeseed and spinach, they all grow leaves. If we want them to grow faster and better and taste better when we eat them, we can use these two methods.

Whether you plant it in a pot on the balcony or in an open air pot, it is fine. You can try this method.
