What fertilizer should be used for chives to grow fast and vigorously

If you want to grow chives well, both fertilization and method are very important. Applying too much fertilizer or applying the wrong method will damage the seedlings. It is indeed crucial to know how to apply fertilizer well.

Chives are easy to manage and can be harvested multiple times after planting once. Many families use vegetable pots to plant leeks, and they grow very vigorously. It is so delicious to eat the leeks that you planted yourself. You will want to know how leeks are grown.

If you are planting leeks on a balcony or in a vegetable pot, it is best to make your own fermented fertilizer. For example, wood ash, soybean water, and kitchen waste can all be used as fertilizer.

Chives can be propagated by seeds or by tillering. Before planting, spread the decomposed organic fertilizer on the soil surface, then deep plow and mix the soil evenly, rake it flat and then you can plant the chives.

Organic fertilizer can improve soil pH, increase soil permeability and promote root growth.

Chives have a high demand for nitrogen fertilizer during the growth period. Only with sufficient nitrogen fertilizer will the leaves of chives be fatter and tenderer. However, too much nitrogen fertilizer can easily cause the chives to fall over. At this time, potassium fertilizer such as wood ash should be added.

Wood ash is a natural water-soluble quick-acting potassium fertilizer that can promote root growth, promote root division and increase the amount of division.

Do not water or fertilize immediately after harvesting leeks, as this may cause root rot. It is best to wait 2 to 3 days after harvesting, when the new leaves grow to 3 cm in height, and then fertilize and water at the same time.

As the temperature rises again in July, the leeks enter a "dormant" period, with slow growth and poor quality. The number of harvests is reduced, and the focus is on root growth.

Fertilizing twice a month can improve the resistance of leeks to stress, enhance immunity, and provide sufficient fertilizer for growth after autumn.

If the chives do not grow well or vigorously after these treatments, we can use some other fertilizers.

Bean cake fertilizer

One is bean cake fertilizer, because it contains sufficient nitrogen fertilizer and is organic fertilizer. Either peanut cake fertilizer or bean cake fertilizer can be used.

We can crush it and sprinkle it directly into the soil in the pot where chives are planted, around the roots of the chives, then loosen the soil and water it thoroughly.

Chicken manure fertilizer

One is chicken manure fertilizer, or other animal manure fertilizer. Generally, chicken manure after drying and fermentation has no odor. You can also put a small amount of manure around the flower pots.

Then, we cover it with soil and water it thoroughly. With these two things in the pot, the chives will grow very fast with sufficient nutrition, and they will be transformed in a week.
