Carrot seed planting precautions

Only by selecting the most suitable varieties for the local area in different seasons according to local environmental and soil conditions can we obtain high-quality and high-yield carrots.

Carrot seeds have a short lifespan, so it is best to choose new seeds of the current year or seeds from the previous year for sowing. When sowing carrots in hot seasons, it is best to place the seeds in a well, air-raid shelter, sweet potato cellar, cave, or other place with a lower temperature for germination to increase the germination rate .

In addition, carrot seeds are often stuck together. After drying the seeds before sowing, rub off the prickles to facilitate uniform sowing .

Carrot sowing amount and method

The sowing amount of carrots is generally 300-500 grams per acre . Generally, row sowing is adopted with a row spacing of 15-20 cm and sowing after digging a 2 cm furrow.

After sowing, just sweep the ground with a broom to level it. To prevent weeds, use herbicides once within 3 days after sowing to reduce the workload.

After sowing in the hot season, cover with a layer of straw mats or other covering materials to keep the soil moist. After the carrots emerge, uncover the covering materials in the afternoon and start normal management.
