What is the best season to plant Yanghe? What is the best month to plant Yanghe?

The main steps of Yanghe planting are turning over the soil and sowing, planting management, fertilization methods, and field management. Yanghe is suitable for turning over the soil and sowing on sandy land with relatively high terrain and not easy to accumulate water. After germination in spring, weeds need to be cleaned in time.

When is the best time to plant Yanghe

Yanghe is suitable for planting in spring and autumn every year. It is planted in spring from March to April and in autumn in October .

Generally speaking, it is best to plant Yanghe in March , because the temperature and humidity at this time are more suitable for the growth of Yanghe. The best time to plant Yanghe in the greenhouse is around February every spring .

How to plant Yanghe

1. Turn over the soil and sow seeds

To plant Yanghe, you can choose a high, sandy land that is not prone to water accumulation, or a flat field. Turn the soil to make a ridge, dig a 30 cm trench, cover it with 5 cm of soil and a layer of decomposed fertilizer. Then put the seeds in, cover them with soil and water them with enough water to fix them.

2. Planting management

The spacing between the Yanghe plants is large, which makes it easy for weeds to grow. Weeds need to be cleaned up in time during the growth period. If there are not many weeds, they can be pulled out when watering. After the Yanghe ginger grows to the third year, the old roots of the Yanghe can be removed through inter-cultivation, and the underground rhizomes can be straightened out to help the growth of its stems.

3. Fertilization method

Yanghe usually sprouts in spring. In summer and autumn, you can use grass mud and garbage mud to cover it with a layer of soil. Yanghe needs to be fertilized three times during its growth period. Apply decomposed organic fertilizer once when it just sprouts, apply topdressing once after the leaves spread out and enter the growth season, and apply urea fertilizer once in June.

4. Field management

Yanghe is prone to drought when planted in fields with higher terrain, but because its underground rhizomes are not tolerant to waterlogging, watering should be done in such a way that it does not overflow the surface of the bed. In rainy weather, the drainage system should be cleared in advance to ensure the drainage of accumulated water. The fragrance emitted by Yanghe itself has a good insect repellent effect, so there is generally no insect pest problem.
