What fertilizer is good for peanut topdressing?

Peanut topdressing time

1. Seedling stage: When the peanuts grow 3-5 leaves, top dressing can be carried out. Nitrogen fertilizer and Flower King No. 3 can be applied to promote the differentiation of flower buds and increase the number of flowers. It has a positive effect on promoting early branching and increasing the number of flowers and pods.

2. Flowering and pod-setting period: After flowering, peanuts have a great demand for nutrients, and rhizobia continuously supply nitrogen nutrients to peanuts. Applying too much nitrogen fertilizer at this time can easily cause excessive growth of stems and leaves and seedlings to fall over in the later stage. Therefore, nitrogen fertilizer is not needed during the flowering period. When cultivating and weeding, apply compound fertilizer and calcium fertilizer, and spray Diguo Zhuangdiling.

3. Pod filling period: Peanuts need more phosphorus during the pod filling period. You can adopt the method of spraying phosphorus on the roots once a week for 2-3 times in a row.

What fertilizer to use for peanut topdressing

During the growth process of peanuts, topdressing should be carried out multiple times according to the growth of the plants. The fertilizers used for topdressing in different stages are also different. For peanuts, compound fertilizers and urea can be applied.

There are many fertilizers used in peanut topdressing, such as nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus fertilizer, human manure fertilizer, organic fertilizer or farmyard manure mixed with wood ash. The specific amount of fertilizer needs to be determined according to the growth of the plant. Generally, when the plant has two pairs of side branches, ammonium sulfate or urea can be applied.

Peanut topdressing method

Top dressing for peanuts should be based on soil fertility, the amount of base fertilizer applied and the growth conditions of peanuts.

1. Topdressing during the seedling stage: If the peanuts are not given enough base fertilizer, or the amount of base fertilizer is insufficient, and the seedlings do not grow well, topdressing with seedling fertilizer should be done early to promote early growth of the seedlings. Topdressing during the seedling stage should be mainly nitrogen fertilizer, combined with phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Generally, nitrogen fertilizer or compound fertilizer is applied, broadcast or in furrows.

2. Top dressing during the flowering period: After peanuts begin to bloom, they grow vigorously and require more nutrients. If the base fertilizer and seedling fertilizer are insufficient, top dressing should be applied in time. Do not apply too much nitrogen fertilizer at this time to avoid excessive growth of branches and leaves. Phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be added to improve the phosphorus and calcium nutrition of peanuts.

3. Foliar fertilization: Peanuts grow slowly in the later stages of their development and need to be sprayed on the leaves. The absorption rate of peanuts can rise to more than 50%. At this time, topdressing can promote the fullness of the pods. In the later stages of peanut growth, spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate mixed with water on the leaves for 3 times in a row, once every 7 days.
