What crops are suitable for growing in winter? What crops are suitable for growing in winter?

If crops are planted in winter, the first requirement to be met is cold resistance. Only crops that are cold-resistant enough can survive better in winter. However, there are still many crops suitable for growing in winter, such as:

1. Winter wheat

Winter wheat is one of the most widely planted crops in northern my country. Of course, winter wheat is not only planted in winter. In areas north of the Great Wall, winter wheat can only be planted in spring.

In the areas north of the Great Wall, it is not suitable for sowing in winter because the temperature is too low. In the areas south of the Great Wall, sowing is mostly carried out in September and October.

2. Chinese Cabbage

Cabbage is a crop that is more suitable for sowing in winter. There is a habit of planting cabbage in both the north and south of my country. In the north, it is mainly sown in autumn, while in the south it is sown in winter. If a greenhouse is used, cabbage can be planted all year round.

3. Peas

Peas are crops that prefer a cool growing environment, and there are many varieties of peas. In winter, most cold-resistant varieties are chosen for planting. Peas are generally sown in late autumn. Only pea seeds with a certain degree of cold resistance can be planted in winter.

4. Soybeans

Soybeans can be planted in winter, but it is not recommended. The best germination temperature for soybeans is around 21 degrees. The temperature in winter is generally below 0 degrees. Although soybeans can germinate and grow, they will develop very slowly or even not germinate.

If you must plant soybeans in winter, it is recommended to build a greenhouse and adjust the temperature and humidity of the greenhouse to the most suitable range for soybean growth.
