How to plant peacock grass seeds

1. Sowing time

There is no clear limit for sowing time, all seasons are possible. Manufacturers that cultivate large quantities of flowers in the south usually choose to sow from November to August, so that the flowers bloom in time for the May Day and National Day. Usually, people in the north choose to sow in spring. In fact, the sowing time is mainly determined by the temperature, as long as the temperature is above 15 degrees.

2. Sowing Method

1. Prepare a foam box and fill it with culture medium. It is best to use loose soil with good fertility. After sterilization, it can be packed and sown.

2. After sowing the seeds, use a watering can to moisten the soil. Just make it slightly moist. Too much moisture will affect the germination rate. Cover with a thin layer of soil and then cover with vermiculite. The temperature is kept at around 24 degrees Celsius.

3. Seedling Management

1. Seeds do not need light to germinate. The radicle will grow in about three or four days, and the seeds will sprout in about a week. Germination is almost successful.

2. About one week after the radicle comes out, the leaves of the seedlings will also come out. At this time, the temperature should be lowered, and water should be added after the substrate is dry to provide nutrients for the extension of the roots. When the leaves are about to appear, you can apply a little liquid fertilizer to help.

3. After a long period of time, you will find that the seedlings grow very fast and enter the growth period. At this time, you need to control the humidity and spray water after the soil is dry. The degree of this needs to be controlled by yourself. Don't make it too dry and lack of water. The ambient temperature can also be appropriately lowered to about 18 degrees and continue to fertilize.

4. In the second half of the rapid growth period, the growth is basically stable and the root system has been formed. When the seedlings grow to three or four centimeters and have six leaves, the temperature can be lowered again, to a minimum of 15 degrees. They can receive appropriate sunlight and be ventilated regularly. After a while, you can divide the pots and transplant them. Be sure to control watering well and water the plant a second time after the substrate has dried out.
