Can geraniums be exposed to rain? Can they be exposed to rain in summer?

Geranium can survive the rain, but it is best not to let it get wet in the rain when caring for it at home, because it is a plant that can bloom all the time. If it gets wet in the rain during the flowering period, it can easily cause the flower buds to rot.

Although geraniums require a lot of water during their growth, they are also very afraid of water. If watering is too frequent, it can easily lead to root rot, and even spread to the entire plant, causing black rot.

Geranium in the rain

Geranium is a very easy-to-care plant, but it must not be exposed to rain, especially during its dormant period. If it is exposed to rain, it will cause the leaves to fall off, turn black, and in severe cases, the stems to blacken. Especially in the hot summer, if it rains on geraniums, it will affect their growth.

If geraniums show poor growth after being exposed to rain, they need to be removed from the pot and the soil changed in time. Then all diseased branches and leaves should be cut off, and a certain amount of carbendazim powder should be applied to the wounds. Then, they should be placed in a ventilated and cool environment for maintenance, and the soil should be kept dry.

Newly planted geraniums in the rain

Newly planted geraniums should not be exposed to rain. If water accumulates in the soil, the roots of the plants will rot. When watering geranium seedlings, you also need to do so based on the dryness and wetness of the soil. It is best to keep the soil slightly moist.
