How to germinate avocado seeds? Planting method after germination

Avocado seed germination method

Step 1 : Cut the ripe avocado and take out the seeds intact, wash the flesh with water, and insert 4-5 toothpicks evenly along the side wall of the core, mainly to provide support during the breeding of seedlings.

Step 2 : Prepare a cup with a smaller mouth, fill it with clean water, and place the fruit core with a bamboo stick on the mouth of the cup. The big end of the fruit core should be immersed under the water, accounting for about 1/3 of the height of the fruit core, and the small end of the fruit core should be exposed outside the mouth of the cup.

Step 3. After placing the avocado core, place it in a warm, ventilated, sunny place. Change the water every day. After about 2-3 weeks, cracks will appear on the top of the avocado core, and then sprouts will appear.

Avocado seed germination process

Avocado seeds will generally grow milky white roots first after soaking for a period of time. In about 2-3 weeks, tender green buds will emerge from the top, and then turn into dark red stems, and green leaves will gradually differentiate into the top.

Avocado seed planting results

Avocados grown in pots basically do not bear fruit because the small space in the pots will inhibit the growth of the plants. It takes 3-4 years from sowing to harvesting avocado seeds planted in the ground. As long as the growth environment is suitable and the maintenance is proper, the fruits can basically be grown in 3 years.
