What to do if Christmas cactus does not grow new leaves

What to do if Christmas cactus does not grow new leaves

1. Malnutrition

(1) Specific reasons: If the plant has not been fertilized for a long time, especially when it is in a period of rapid growth, it is likely to be malnourished and fail to grow new leaves.

(2) Solution: If this is the reason, then you need to intentionally add some fertilizer to the plant to help its new leaves grow. The most important thing to pay attention to is in spring, when it grows very fast and naturally needs to be supplied with sufficient nutrients.

2. The soil has not been changed for a long time

(1) Specific reasons: If the soil is not changed for a long time, it is likely to become lumpy. The consequence is that water and nutrients cannot be transmitted well. Therefore, it may also lead to the failure of new leaves to grow.

(2) Solution: You can change the soil to improve its growth environment. The new soil also needs attention, such as looseness, fertility, etc. If you cannot change it for the time being, you can loosen the soil appropriately.

3. Excessive water accumulation

(1) Specific reasons: This is a common phenomenon. Too much water accumulates, causing the roots to rot. Then, growth will stagnate, let alone growing new leaves. If the condition is very serious, the entire plant will appear listless or even die.

(2) Solution: When this phenomenon occurs, the water volume needs to be strictly controlled. Once it's in better condition, resume normal maintenance.

4. The temperature is not suitable

(1) Specific reasons: It does not refer to either being too high or too low alone, but includes both aspects. Unsuitable temperature may cause it to not grow leaves.

(2) Solution: If this happens, adjust the temperature to between 10 and 28 degrees.
