How to germinate mango seeds and plant them

Mango Seed Germination Method

1. Processing seeds

Clean the remaining pulp on the mango core and place it in a cool and ventilated place to dry, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent sunburn of the seeds. Then peel off the shell of the core to take out the seeds. You also need to peel off the thin film on the surface of the seed germ. Be careful not to damage the seeds when peeling.

2. Seed soaking and germination

In order for mango seeds to germinate, they need to be soaked. Soak the peeled seed embryos in clean water. Change the water once a day. It will take about 2-3 days for them to germinate. Observe them every day to prevent the seeds from rotting.

Mango seed germination process

A green bud will grow at one end of the mango seed, which will then turn into a dark red stem. Leaves will gradually differentiate into red leaves on the top. As time goes by, the stem and leaves will slowly become taller and the color will gradually turn green. After the seed embryo is soaked, it can be sown.

Grain in Ear Seed Planting Results

The growth period from planting mango seeds to bearing fruit is very long. It usually takes 8-10 years, or even more than 10 years, to bear fruit. If you want mangoes to grow quickly and bear fruit early, you still need to do a good job of water and fertilizer management during the mango growth period, and at the same time provide good light conditions.
