Cabbage seed germination method: Seed soaking, germination and seedling raising methods and steps

The seeds of some plants have a hard shell, or the seed coat has a layer of waterproof substance, which makes it difficult for water to enter the interior of the seed during normal growth, thus affecting the germination rate of the seed.

In order to ensure the germination rate and ensure that the seedlings emerge evenly, grow strong and healthy, they will be germinated first. Germination can make the seeds germinate quickly and increase the germination rate, saving time and space.

Cabbage seed germination time

Cabbage is suitable for germination and planting on a sunny afternoon or on a cloudy day between April and September. The germination time should not be too long, as it will cause the seeds to be too moist and unusable.

Cabbage Seed Soaking and Germination Technology

We can choose high-quality cabbage seeds such as flat cabbage and round cabbage for germination. First, soak the seeds in 50 to 55℃ warm water for about an hour, then take out the seeds and drain the water, wrap them with clean, breathable and water-permeable gauze, and place them in an environment with suitable temperature for germination.

During the germination period, soak the seeds in warm water for one or two times. The time should be controlled at about 10 to 15 minutes. Then shake the gauze bag appropriately to allow the seeds to be evenly heated. When the seed sprouts turn white, the germination is successful and can be sown.
