Peony transplanting time and method Which month is best for transplanting peony seedlings

Peony is a very common flower plant in our lives. It can be used as an ornamental plant and has medicinal value. Therefore, peony flowers are deeply loved by people. If you want the peony flowers to grow well, you must transplant them reasonably.

Peony transplanting time

Peonies are generally transplanted in autumn, because the roots of peonies are fleshy and are easily damaged during transplantation. If transplanted in autumn, the injured parts will heal relatively quickly, so autumn is the best time to transplant peonies.

Peony transplanting technology

1. Selection and processing

When transplanting peonies, be sure to choose healthy plants with soil balls on the roots. The absence of soil balls will cause the water in the peony roots to evaporate faster. Before transplanting the peonies, they must be properly pruned, generally by cutting off excessively long roots, overly dense fibrous roots, and dead branches of the peony.

2. Soil selection

When transplanting peonies, you should choose loose, breathable soil with sufficient organic matter. Such soil with sufficient nutrients is conducive to the faster recovery of peonies after transplanting. It is best not to choose poor soil blocks with insufficient water and fertilizer retention capacity.

Management of Peony after Transplantation

The first thing to do after transplanting peony is watering. The newly transplanted peony will be relatively weak, so it needs sufficient water and sufficient light, but it cannot be over-watered or exposed to direct sunlight, because peony is a plant that is not tolerant to waterlogging.
