Blueberry transplanting time and method The best time and precautions for transplanting

Blueberry is a fruit that many people like to eat. It is not only sweet but also rich in various nutrients, such as anthocyanins. Blueberry is highly nutritious so the demand is increasing. Therefore, blueberries are grown in many areas. What issues need to be paid attention to when planting blueberries? Transplanting blueberries is a very important step.

Blueberry transplanting time

Transplanting blueberry seedlings can be done in spring or autumn. Transplanting in spring is mostly done in February or March, while transplanting in autumn is done in November. However, in order to effectively improve the survival rate of blueberry seedlings, it is recommended to transplant in spring. This is because the temperature is higher at this time, which is conducive to the rooting and germination of blueberry seedlings and can effectively promote the growth of blueberries. If transplanting in autumn, blueberry seedlings are easily affected by winter frost damage.

Blueberry Transplanting Technology

1. Choose good soil

When transplanting blueberries, it is best to choose a place with loose soil, good air permeability and good drainage. The pH value of the soil should be around 4.4 to 5.5. After selecting a good site, the soil needs to be plowed first and organic fertilizer should be applied to add some fertility to the soil.

2. Transplanting method

When transplanting blueberries, you need to observe its root system. If the roots are densely concentrated at the bottom, you need to cut the bottom into a cross shape, take out the soil and then straighten the roots. If it is a bare-root seedling, you need to stretch out the roots before planting.

Management of blueberry transplantation

After planting blueberries, a small amount of farmyard manure can be added, and some nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be added to the production orchard. Blueberries do not require much water, so when the moisture content in the soil is high, timely drainage is sufficient. If the water content is low, timely irrigation is required, but not too much.
