How many times can rapeseed be planted in a year and how long does it take for it to bloom?

How many seasons can rapeseed be planted in a year?

Rapeseed is divided into winter rapeseed and spring rapeseed. It can be planted twice a year . It is an annual plant and blooms once a year. Winter rapeseed is generally planted from September to November, and spring rapeseed is generally planted in April. If sowing in autumn and winter in northern regions, be sure to pay attention to cold and frost prevention.

Rapeseed Planting Conditions

Rapeseed likes warmth and light, and is suitable for growing in an environment with sufficient sunlight at 20-30℃. It is not very cold-resistant, so it is not widely planted in the north. Rapeseed is in a dark environment for a long time, which will inhibit photosynthesis and fail to generate nutrients, thereby delaying growth. Therefore, try to provide sufficient light for rapeseed during its growth period.

Rapeseed has strong vitality and adaptability. It does not require too much soil for its growth, as long as it is not too poor. However, it requires a lot of water when it blooms, especially during and after flowering. At the same time, its flowering is a very nutrient-consuming thing. For poorly growing rapeseed, it can be properly fertilized before flowering, which can not only extend its flowering period, but also improve its disease resistance.

Rapeseed Harvest Time

Rapeseed flowers usually bloom about three months after being planted , and the flowering period is mainly concentrated from February to April. Its flowering period is generally about 30 days. However, China has a vast territory and the climate and environment are different, so rapeseed flowers bloom from early February to the end of July every year.
