The southern region is relatively warmer, so it can be planted in early March, while the northern region with cooler weather is best to wait until April.

Amaranth planting methods and key points

1. Variety selection

The planting varieties of amaranth should be selected according to the local climate conditions at that time. When sowing in winter or early spring, you can choose amaranth with good cold resistance. In other seasons, you can focus on choosing amaranth with good disease and pest resistance.

2. Planting

The growth cycle of Amaranth is not long. It can usually be harvested in about one and a half months. Soak the seeds prepared in advance in water at room temperature for about a day. During the soaking process, gently rub them with your hands several times. After taking them out, let them dry naturally. Wrap them with a wet towel with good air permeability to germinate. When half of the seeds turn white, they can be sown.
