Schefflera repotting time and method and maintenance precautions after repotting

Schefflera repotting time

It is recommended to repot the Schefflera in spring when the weather is warm. At this time, the climate is relatively mild and suitable, repotting will have less impact on the plant, and repotting will be beneficial to its growth. The Schefflera needs to be repotted every 1-2 years.

Methods and steps for repotting Schefflera

1. Depotting : It is recommended to cut off water three days before depotting. When depotting, first use a small shovel to draw a circle along the inner wall of the pot, or tap the outer wall of the pot to make the potting soil easier to separate. Then turn the pot upside down, hold the rhizome, and take it out carefully.

2. Prune the roots : After digging out the plant, shake off the soil around the roots to expose most of the plant's roots. Then cut off rotten roots, old roots and excess fibrous roots. Use carbendazim solution to disinfect and sterilize, and finally dry the roots.

3. Prepare potting soil : Prepare a larger flower pot with good air permeability. The soil should be loose, fertile and well-drained. You can mix garden soil, nutrient soil, peat soil and old soil, and then disinfect the potting soil.

4. Plant in the pot : Place the plant in the middle of the prepared soil, fill the soil after the roots are expanded, compact the soil lightly, spray water appropriately, and finally place it in a cool place.

Maintenance of Schefflera after repotting

After repotting the Schefflera, place it in a place with sufficient diffuse light, spray it with water in moderation, and maintain a good humidity. After repotting, it will adapt to the new pot in about 7-10 days, and then you can maintain it normally.
