When and how to repot the fortune tree

Time to repot the fortune tree

It is recommended to repot the money tree in April in spring, or in the summer when the money tree is dormant, because the temperature and climate at this time are suitable, which has less impact on the plant, and repotting is conducive to its growth, and it can quickly adapt to the new environment after repotting.

Methods and steps for repotting the fortune tree

1. Depotting : It is recommended to cut off water three days before depotting. When depotting, first use a small shovel to draw a circle along the inner wall of the pot, or tap the outer wall of the pot to make the potting soil easier to separate. Then turn the pot upside down, hold the rhizome, and take it out carefully.

2. Prune the roots : After digging out the plant, shake off the soil around the roots, clean the roots, then cut off the rotten roots, old roots and excess fibrous roots, then use carbendazim solution to disinfect and sterilize, and finally dry the roots.

3. Prepare potting soil : Prepare a larger flowerpot with good air permeability. The soil should be loose, fertile and well-drained. You can use garden soil, river sand, and sawdust in a ratio of 3:1:1, and then disinfect the potting soil.

4. Plant in the pot : Spread a layer of small gravel at the bottom of the pot to increase permeability, then place the plant in the middle of the prepared soil, fill the soil after the roots are stretched out, compact the soil lightly, spray water appropriately, and finally place it in a cool place.

Maintenance of the fortune tree after repotting

After repotting the money tree, place it in a cool and ventilated place and water it again every 3-4 days. If the environment is suitable, it will adapt to the pot in about 7-15 days and then you can maintain it normally.
