How to breed moss

How to breed moss

Moss reproduction method

Moss is a kind of bryophyte that will not bloom and bear fruit, has no seeds and no roots, and cannot be propagated by cuttings, sowing, division, or leaf cuttings. New moss usually grows through side buds, so do not damage the side buds during daily maintenance to avoid affecting growth.

How to breed Moss

1. Moss reproduction is mainly through the growth of new moss from side buds. Breeding requires attention to factors such as water temperature, light, and carbon dioxide. Only when the environment is suitable can a good foundation be laid for moss water plants. When moss water plants are propagating, it is not suitable for pruning in this situation, because it will damage the side buds, which is not conducive to reproduction and reduces the success rate of reproduction.

2. During the maintenance period of Moss, maintain at least 4 hours of light every day. Because Moss is a negative aquatic plant, it does not have too many requirements on the brightness and time of light. However, the light brightness should not be too strong and the lighting time should not be too long.

3. In addition, the water temperature must be maintained at 22 to 26 degrees every day. Moss water plants will turn yellow or black under high or low temperatures. A small amount of carbon dioxide must be added every day. Since the growth of moss water plants requires photosynthesis, carbon dioxide is its nutrient.
