Is it better to grow hyacinth in water or soil?

Hyacinths can be grown in soil or hydroponically. Both methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. Soil-grown hyacinths grow very strong and sturdy, and are not prone to root rot, but they can easily dirty the surrounding area. Hydroponics hyacinths are very convenient to maintain on a daily basis, and you only need to change the water in time. They are more beautiful, but there is a greater possibility of root rot.

Method of hydroponic hyacinth

Processing bulbs : Before planting hydroponic hyacinths, the bulbs must be processed first. First, peel off the old outer skin, then soak them in a diluted disinfectant solution for about 15-20 minutes, take them out, and let them dry naturally.

Changing water: The best thing to use for hydroponic hyacinths is a professional hyacinth hydroponic bottle. The mouth of the bottle should be able to support the bulb, and the amount of water should just cover the roots of the bulb. You don’t need to change the water too frequently. Just observe the water level drop and replenish it in time.

Soil culture method of hyacinth

Planting method : When growing hyacinths in soil, it is best to choose fertile, well-drained soil. You can also mix it yourself with river sand. When planting, pay attention to the top one-third of the bulb being exposed to the surface of the soil, so as to help the hyacinth grow better.

Temperature : The temperature for planting hyacinth should be controlled at around 5-10 degrees. It prefers a cool environment and does not like the temperature to be too high. You can also place the hyacinth near the window so that it gets sufficient light time.
