How to hydroponically cultivate asparagus fern and how long does it take for it to take root

1. Time Selection

It can be grown hydroponically, but you need to pay attention to the timing. You should choose spring or autumn, and avoid rainy weather, and do it on sunny days, so that the overall survival rate will be higher.

2. Plant treatment

Before hydroponics, you should first select a healthy asparagus fern, remove it from the pot, and clean its roots. It is best to wash it under running water to remove the dirt on the roots, cut off rotten roots, and disinfect the wounds.

3. Prepare the container

When hydroponically growing, the size of the container should be determined according to the size of the plant. Choose a transparent one of appropriate size. You also need to prepare a net, and do not place the plants directly in the water.

4. Place the plants

Preparation is easy, once you have prepared the plant you can place it in water. First place it in the net, let the roots touch part of the water surface, and gradually take root. This is the best way to grow hydroponically, with a high survival rate and is conducive to management and later growth. Under normal circumstances, new roots will grow in three or four weeks.

5. Notes

When growing hydroponically, you must first cover the container with a black plastic bag to create a dark environment for it. After curing it for a period of time, remove the plastic bag and allow it to slowly receive light. If placed directly in water, its roots cannot withstand strong light, and it will be difficult to adapt and resume growth.
