Black corn planting time and method

Black corn planting time

The entire process of black corn from sowing to growth takes about four months, so the sowing season is generally around the beginning of spring. The temperature at this time is around 20 degrees and the air humidity is relatively high, which is suitable for seed germination and is also conducive to later growth.

Black corn planting method

1. Site selection

No matter what crops you plant, you need suitable soil. When planting black corn, you can choose soil that is fertile and easy to irrigate and drain. Although it is not very sensitive to the acidity and alkalinity of the soil, the black corn grown in a relatively good environment will have fuller grains and more adequate nutrients.

2. Land preparation

After selecting the soil, you need to cultivate it. After turning over the soil layer, you can sterilize and kill insect eggs. In fact, when the previous crop of the soil is rice or other crops, you can effectively fertilize the soil to improve soil fertility and crop yields.

3. Planting seeds

Usually choose black corn seeds with full grains, smooth surface and no disease and insect pest contamination, sow them in the prepared soil in advance, cover them with a thin layer of soil, then water them thoroughly and wait for them to germinate.

Black corn planting precautions

After black corn is planted, it can germinate at a temperature of about 10 degrees. Then the temperature will be gradually increased according to the growth of the crop. At the same time, an environment of about 28 degrees is more conducive to its growth. This is also the time when seeds germinate most quickly.
