Celery is usually planted in spring or autumn. When planting in spring, you need to use varieties that sprout later, which can be done from early December to February of the following year. In autumn, you need to sow between late June and August.

Celery Planting Methods

1. Germination treatment: Celery prefers a cool climate. If it is sown in a high temperature season, it needs to be germinated. Soak it in water for about 12 hours, then wrap it with gauze, put it in the refrigerator, rinse it once a day, and it will germinate after 3-5 days.

2. Sowing and seedling raising: When sowing celery, you can sow the seeds directly into the seedbed and build a shade net. When the seedlings grow to 3-4 true leaves, they need to be pruned and transplanted with a certain planting spacing.

3. Planting management: Celery needs to control watering before planting, which is more beneficial to the growth of the root system. Then prepare the soil for planting and apply enough base fertilizer. Planting is usually carried out in March and April.

Celery planting precautions

When caring for celery during the seedling stage, you need to pay attention. In order to make it grow well, you need to thin out and replant the seedlings regularly, and carry out inter-row cultivation and weeding to avoid consuming too much nutrients. In normal times, you also need to water and fertilize according to the growth of the seedlings.
