Dutch cucumbers can be planted several times a year. In early spring, they can be sown between January and March. In summer and autumn, they can be sown between June and August. It is a typical thermophilic plant, so as long as the temperature is between 15 and 32 degrees, it can be sown.

How to grow Dutch cucumbers

1. Seed treatment: When planting Dutch cucumbers, you need to use relatively full seeds. In order to increase the germination rate, you need to expose them to the sun and soak them in warm water. They must also be disinfected before planting.

2. Prepare the substrate: When planting Dutch cucumbers, the substrate used is also very important. Generally, loose, breathable, and well-drained sandy soil is used, and sufficient base fertilizer needs to be applied before planting.

3. Sowing: After preparing the substrate, the Dutch cucumber can be sown. Just spread it evenly on the seedbed, then cover it with a layer of soil and film to promote seed germination.

Dutch cucumber planting precautions

Dutch cucumbers have relatively high temperature requirements, so after planting, the daytime temperature needs to be kept between 25-30 degrees, and the night temperature needs to be kept between 18-20 degrees. The temperature can be lowered after the seedlings have recovered so that they can grow well.
