Spring sesame planting time and method

Spring sesame planting time and method

Spring sesame planting time

Spring sesame is generally sown in May every year, because the temperature at that time has gradually risen, which is more conducive to growth. It can sprout quickly after sowing. When planting, it is best to choose a time when the weather is relatively clear, so as not to affect seed germination.

Spring sesame planting method

1. Land preparation and fertilization: Before sowing spring sesame, land preparation work needs to be done. The soil needs to be broken up and leveled, and ridges need to be made. The height of the ridges should be kept at about 10 cm. When planting, pay attention to controlling the planting spacing.

2. Planting: When planting spring sesame, you can use row sowing or scattered sowing. After sowing, the soil should not be covered too deep to allow the plants to have an even germination time.

3. Planting management: After sowing spring sesame, weeding needs to be done to reduce excessive consumption of nutrients. Manual weeding is mainly done, and watering is also required regularly to keep the soil moist.

Precautions for planting spring sesame

1. Spring sesame needs the best management during the seedling stage. Thinning is required when two true leaves are grown, and then thinning is required again when 4-6 true leaves are grown.

2. During its normal growth, spring sesame is more susceptible to diseases and pests, which have a great impact on its growth and development, so it needs to be sprayed with drugs in time for prevention and control.
