Habits

It likes high temperature and humid environment, has no strict requirements on light, is not cold-resistant, and is relatively shade-tolerant. It can be viewed in a dark room for 2 to 3 weeks. The suitable temperature for growth is 18~25 ℃. It can tolerate 2 ℃ in winter, but it is better to grow above 5 ℃.

Ornamental properties and applications

Spring feather is a perennial herb. The plant has a beautiful shape and vigorous growth. It can reach a height of 100 cm. The stem is thick and upright, with a diameter of up to 10 cm. There are obvious leaf scars and wire-like aerial roots on the stem. The leaves extend in all directions from the top of the stem, with a petiole 40 to 50 cm long. The leaves are bright, rich and shiny, ovate and heart-shaped, clustered, huge, deeply pinnate-shaped and palm-shaped, and leathery. The leaves of the young seedlings are relatively thin and triangular in shape. As they grow, the leaves gradually become larger, with more and deeper pinnate notches. It has environmental protection function, can absorb dust in the air and increase the content of oxygen ions, and is especially suitable for decorating living rooms.

Water cultivation tips

1. Select plants that are tall and upright, remove them from the pots and wash their roots, then grow them in water in a tall, straight barrel-shaped glass container.

2. Cut the plants with aerial roots and insert them directly into water. They will take root in about 15 days.

3. Increase the frequency of water changes in summer to prevent root rot, and use clean water.

4. Frequently spray the leaves with 0.1%~0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and other foliar fertilizers to make the leaves bright.

5. The spring fern grown in water in a tall pot with a wooden flower stand looks more dignified and elegant.
