How long is the growth cycle of daylily?

Daylily growth cycle

The growth cycle of daylily generally takes about two months. In spring, daylily can usually be planted from mid-to-late April to early May, and in autumn, planting is usually completed from late September to mid-October. In the Northeast region, planting can generally be completed from late April to early June in spring, and in autumn, it can be planted from the beginning of frost to before freezing.

Daylily growth rate

Daylily grows very fast. The leaves grow rapidly from germination to bolting, especially from March to May. After bolting from late May to late June, most of the assimilated substances are supplied to the growth of stalks, and the number and size of leaves increase slowly.

Daylily growth cycle management

Temperature management: The most suitable temperature for growth is 20 to 25 degrees, and the most suitable temperature for leaves can be reduced to 15 to 20 degrees. The temperature during flowering should be between 25 and 30 degrees, and then it can germinate at a low temperature of more than 5 degrees, but it is best to germinate and grow fastest at more than 10 degrees. The underground part is more resistant to low temperatures and can survive at minus 10 degrees. The perennial roots are dormant in winter and germinate again in spring. Therefore, it grows best in temperate and subtropical areas.

Fertilization management: Top dressing is needed after planting. The first top dressing is to use seedling fertilizer, which can make the daylily grow better. In order to lay the foundation for the later flower stalks and buds of daylily, we should try to apply seedling fertilizer as early as possible, because the earlier the fertilization, the more benefits it will bring to daylily. Seedling fertilizer will basically choose some phosphorus fertilizer or potassium fertilizer, but you can also use some manure as a substitute. Add some manure water to appropriate urea and stir it.
