How many days does it take for tomatoes to germinate? Seed germination method and sowing points

How long does it take for tomatoes to germinate?

Generally, the germination time of tomato seeds is one to two weeks. The tomato seeds must be processed before planting. First, soak the tomato seeds in clean water.

Usually, after the tomato seeds have fully absorbed water, they are soaked in 55°C hot water for 15 minutes. When the water temperature drops, be sure to maintain the water temperature for 3 to 4 hours. This will allow the tomato seeds to germinate in one to two weeks.

Tomato germination time

Tomato seedlings will usually emerge 2-3 days after sowing. At this time, you must pay attention to the temperature of the seedlings. When the temperature is not suitable, the emergence time will be increased, and it may take 5 days or longer to emerge. When the temperature of the seedling bed is high and the conditions are good, the seedlings can emerge normally.

Tomato post-emergence management

1. Temperature difference

After the tomatoes emerge, try to control the daytime temperature at around 25 degrees Celsius. You can use the cold bed seedling method. After the seedlings emerge, you should make full use of solar energy to increase the bed temperature so that the seedlings can grow normally.

2. Management

After the tomatoes emerge, in addition to paying attention to adjusting the temperature and humidity of the seedbed, the vents should be enlarged during the day to increase the ventilation time. If ventilation is not carried out in time during the seedling stage, it is easy for the seedlings to suffer from damping-off or sudden wilt.
