How to divide the scattered bamboo into pots so that it can survive easily

When is the best time to divide the bamboo?

Under normal circumstances, repotting can be done between late March and mid-September each year, which is conducive to survival and can be done in the greenhouse in all seasons.

The correct way to divide the pot of spathiphyllum

The general steps of repotting the Areca palm are to take out the plant, change the potting soil, repot it, and maintain it after potting. When taking out the Areca palm, gently tap the sides of the flowerpot with your hands, turn the flowerpot upside down, take out the plant, prepare a flowerpot of the right size and soil with good drainage, put the roots of the plant in, fill the soil and water it thoroughly.

Division and repotting: First dig out the healthy mother plant of 4-5 years old for the scattered bamboo, let it grow naturally and break it apart with your hands. Generally, it will be divided into 2-4 slightly thicker roots, retain the latent buds on the branches, then cut off some old roots, break the roots, soak them in copper sulfate for disinfection and sterilization, and then plant them.

Precautions for transplanting spathiphyllum

After cutting the loose-tail bamboo, apply wood ash on the wound to disinfect it. After planting, do not place it under strong light. Water it appropriately to keep it moist.

What soil to use: Spreading bamboo needs a substrate that is breathable, nutritious, and easy to drain. For example, peat soil, perlite, and ceramsite can be prepared in a ratio of two to two to one.

How to deal with wilting: Don’t worry too much if the bamboo wilts after repotting. Its ability to adapt to the new environment is relatively slow. As long as it is properly maintained, placed in a place with sufficient scattered light, and watered when the soil is dry and wet, it will slowly recover later.
