How to plant cauliflower and when and how to plant it

Cauliflower growth environment requirements

Cauliflower prefers a cool environment and is relatively cold-resistant, but its heat and cold resistance are not as good as those of cabbage, and it cannot tolerate high temperatures and drought.

The per-acre yield of cauliflower is related to the variety. Under proper maintenance conditions, the per-acre yield of early-maturing varieties is generally around 4,000 to 5,000 jin, the per-acre yield of mid-maturing varieties is 4,500 to 6,000 jin, and the per-acre yield of late-maturing varieties is an average of 6,000 to 8,000 jin.

Cauliflower planting time

The best time to plant cauliflower is in spring and autumn, around January in spring and around July in autumn. The temperature at this time is neither high nor low, which is suitable for the growth of cauliflower.

How to grow cauliflower

Cauliflower is mainly propagated by sowing. Its seeds can be sown directly without any treatment, but the seeds are very small, so it is best to sow them evenly. After sowing, cover them with a thin layer of soil and water them once. They will germinate in about 3-4 days.

High-yield planting technology of cauliflower

In order to produce high yields of cauliflower, it is necessary to cultivate strong seedlings, select fertile land with good drainage and irrigation conditions, apply fully decomposed high-quality manure and triple compound fertilizer, use carbendazim to disinfect and kill insects in the soil, and then deep plow and level it.

How to grow cauliflower quickly

Cauliflower grows rapidly after entering the rosette stage and needs timely watering to keep the soil moist. Apply urea before buds appear. Pay attention to the principle of applying thin fertilizers frequently and do not apply concentrated fertilizers.

Cauliflower cultivation precautions

During the growth period of cauliflower, pay attention to timely prevention and control of aphids, cabbage worms, diamondback moths, beet armyworms, cutworms, downy mildew and black rot. Spray pesticides as early as possible. The maintenance environment needs to have good ventilation. Take drainage measures in the rainy season. Remove diseased and insect-infested leaves as soon as possible.
