How to plant fresh Dendrobium

The main methods of planting fresh Dendrobium are tissue rapid propagation, division and cutting propagation, with division propagation being the main method.

When planting by division, generally choose 1-2 year old, strong, with many sprouts, tender green color, well-developed root system and free of diseases and insect pests as seed plants, trim off dead branches, rotten and excessively long roots, divide the plant clusters into more small clusters, each with 5-7 stems with leaves, and then plant.

If fresh Dendrobium is planted in poor soil, it is necessary to pay attention to topdressing. The first time is around the Qingming Festival, you can mix nitrogen fertilizer, pig and cow manure and river mud. The second time is before winter, you can use peanut drums, rapeseed cakes, superphosphate mixed with river mud and apply it to the roots. In addition, you can also apply topdressing outside the roots.

Precautions for cultivation of fresh Dendrobium

Fresh Dendrobium likes a humid environment and needs appropriate watering during maintenance, but the degree must be controlled. If the humidity is too high, the roots will rot, so it must be watered moderately and attention must be paid to reasonable fertilization. Generally, it is sufficient to fertilize once every 7-10 days. If it is dormant, you do not need to fertilize.
