How to make lotus sprout quickly

Environmental requirements for lotus germination

Bowl lotus is a floating plant. Most of its leaves grow close to the water surface. It prefers a warm growing environment. When maintaining it, it must have a suitable temperature. The temperature needs to be kept between 22-28 degrees. It cannot be too high or too low, otherwise it will affect the germination of seeds.

The germination process of lotus

After the water lily seeds are opened for germination, the embryo will begin to develop in 3 days. After the seeds germinate, they should be sown in the soil immediately and watered in time to keep the soil moist. The first leaf will grow after about 7 days, and the prototype of the seedling will also be formed.

After the bowl lotus is germinated, it can be planted in the soil when it grows to 1-2 cm. Good fertilizer and water management is required at ordinary times.

Direct germination of lotus seeds

Bowl water lily seeds cannot be planted directly because their shells are relatively hard and need to be germinated, and they must be artificially broken before germination.

How to make lotus seeds germinate quickly

If you want the water lily seeds to germinate in advance, you need to germinate the seeds that have just broken their shells. Soak them in warm water at about 20 degrees. They will usually germinate on the third day of germination. During the germination process, you need to change the water 1-3 times a day, and remove some seeds that cannot germinate.

How to germinate and plant lotus seeds

When planting water lilies, you need to use relatively full seeds without diseases and insect pests. They must be shelled first and then germinated before they can be planted.

During normal maintenance, there must be sufficient sunlight and good fertilizer and water management, but watering should be done in moderation.
