How to deal with the new cactus balls

Cactus grows small balls

When cactus grows well, there will often be many small balls. These small balls grow very fast and will compete with the mother ball for nutrients, causing the mother ball to grow slowly and affecting the shape of the plant. Therefore, it is best to clean up the small balls in time during cultivation. When dealing with the small balls, they can be used for reproduction.

How to process cactus balls

When small balls grow on the cactus, you can remove them when they grow big enough. You can break them off directly with your hands or use tools to remove them. It would be a pity to throw away the small balls directly. You can put them in a cool and ventilated place to dry. After drying, you can propagate them. This is the cutting of small balls of cactus.

When planting bulbs, you need to choose suitable soil so that they can take root well. You can choose a small flower pot for the culture pot, with a diameter of 4-5cm. It does not need to be too deep, a shallow pot will do. Place the prepared soil in the flowerpot, spray the soil with water, and then place the dried balls neatly on the surface of the soil.

During the period when the bulbs are taking root, daily management must be done. When the soil in the pot is dry, it needs to be watered, but not too much, because the flowerpot is too shallow so it is best not to allow water to accumulate. Generally, the small balls will take root in about half a month of cultivation, and the roots are relatively strong.
