Lanmei planting conditions and environmental requirements for suitable planting areas

Introduction to Lanmei

Orchid plum grows vigorously and can grow multiple times in one growing season, with secondary growth being more common. When planted in the southern region, it has two growth peaks a year, the first in May and June, and the second in July and August. After the seedlings are transplanted, it grows vigorously in the third year, and the annual growth can reach more than 1 meter.

Orchid planting conditions

Orchid plum has a wide adaptability to the environment and is suitable for planting in areas with an annual average temperature of 15 to 25 degrees. During the growing period, it can withstand extreme high temperatures of 35 to 45 degrees and extreme low temperatures above minus 15 degrees in the surrounding environment. The accumulated temperature from the budding period to the peak flowering period of the orchid plum has a greater impact on the quality of the orchid plum. The large temperature difference during the fruit development period is beneficial to the improvement of its quality.

Lanmei planting area

Orchid likes acidic soil. The pH value of the soil in the garden should be between 4.5 and 5.5. The soil should be loose and have good drainage. The optimal soil porosity should be greater than 50%. It is mainly produced in North America. It ranks first in the world in terms of fruit quality and yield. It is also grown in Chile. In my country, it is mainly planted in the forest areas of Changbai Mountain, Lesser Khingan Mountains and Greater Khingan Mountains.

Lanmei planting time

Generally, orchids can be planted twice a year, spring and autumn. It is more suitable to plant in spring when the temperature stabilizes before 30 degrees, and it is best to plant in autumn when the temperature remains below 25 degrees.

Benefits of Orchid Plum Planting

Orchid plum is suitable for acidic soil rich in organic matter. The average investment per mu is 300 yuan. The cost of digging holes and planting, farmyard manure, irrigation, weeding, winter protection, and management fees cost an average of 2,600 yuan per mu, and each orchid plum plant costs 15 yuan.

300 orchid plum trees can be planted per mu of land. They will bear fruit in the third year and enter the peak production period after the fourth year. The yield per mu is 1,000 kilograms. After entering the production period, the total cost per mu is 1,000 yuan. The minimum market price is 30 yuan per kilogram, so the output value per mu is 30,000 yuan. After entering the peak production period, after deducting the cost, the net income per mu is 27,870 yuan.
