First, remove the Cymbidium plant from the old pot, then use scissors to cut off the old roots, rotten roots and yellow leaves. Next, find the gaps for division and slowly pull the orchid plants apart, with 3 to 5 seedlings per cluster.

After the separated orchid plants are properly trimmed, soak the roots in 100% carbendazim solution for 10 minutes. Take them out and dry them in a cool and ventilated place for half a day. Wait until the orchid roots become soft and easy to bend before replanting them in the pots.

Precautions for transplanting Cymbidium orchids

1. When transplanting Cymbidium orchids into different pots, please use clean tools to prevent infection. When removing roots, be careful not to remove the roots of new growth points. Also, it is best to put some pebbles at the bottom of the pot to facilitate drainage.

2. The roots of Cymbidium are fleshy, thick and hypertrophic, and the root penetration ability is weak. The soil for dividing the pots can be made of fern roots and bark, fern roots and small stones, bark and sawdust, etc., which is conducive to the rapid growth of the plants.

3. If the Cymbidium orchid wilts after being repotted, it may be because the breeding environment is not suitable. It should be transferred to a semi-shaded environment for maintenance in time. It may also be caused by excessive watering. Watering should be stopped, and it should be moved to a well-ventilated place. The soil in the pot should be dried and wait for it to recover.
