What fertilizer is good for growing Paris polyphylla

Planting Paris polyphylla fertilizer

When planting Paris polyphylla, you can use fertilizers mainly composed of organic fertilizer, biological fertilizer, biological organic-inorganic compound fertilizer, commercial organic fertilizer, and organic-inorganic compound fertilizer. You also need to use an appropriate amount of potassium sulfate-type compound fertilizer as base fertilizer and basal fertilizer.

Paris polyphylla base fertilizer

Paris polyphylla likes fertilizer, so during the land preparation process, sufficient base fertilizer needs to be applied. Fully decomposed organic fertilizer can be applied, and part of it can be replaced by fermented farmyard manure. Mix the fertilizer with the soil and level the ground.

Topdressing with Paris polyphylla

When planting Paris polyphylla, top dressing can be done in November and December, combined with field tillage, with 30 kg of compound fertilizer applied per mu. The second top dressing can be done in April of the following spring, with 30 kg of compound fertilizer applied per mu.

Fertilizer for Paris polyphylla during its growth period

During the growth period of Paris polyphylla, organic fertilizer is mainly applied, combined with an appropriate amount of compound fertilizer and various trace elements. Organic fertilizer includes fully decomposed farmyard manure, livestock manure, oil cake, wood ash, crop straw, etc. Human feces and urine cannot be used.

Fertilizer for Paris polyphylla during fruiting period

The leaf area of Paris polyphylla is relatively large. During its vigorous growth period from July to August each year, foliar fertilization can be carried out to promote plant growth. Use urea and potassium dihydrogen phosphate for spraying, once every half a month, for a total of 3 times. Spraying is best done in the evening when the weather is good.

The correct method of fertilizing

Paris polyphylla is a fertilizer-loving plant and has a high demand for phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizers during its growth period. If only inorganic fertilizers are used, it will easily cause soil compaction. If excessive use of nitrogen fertilizers will reduce the germination rate and survival rate. It is best to use a combination of organic fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers.

Matters Needing Attention in Fertilizing

Organic fertilizer needs to be applied during the growth period of Paris polyphylla. If the organic fertilizer content is low, it will cause the soil to become compacted and have poor air permeability, and the rhizomes will be prone to rot. However, if the organic matter content is too much, it will cause microbial growth and increase the incidence of Paris polyphylla root rot. Therefore, it is necessary to apply organic fertilizer in appropriate amounts according to the organic matter content of the soil.
