Cultivation methods and precautions of foxglove

Cultivation methods and precautions of foxglove

Foxglove is relatively easy to grow and has strong cold resistance. In my northern region, it can also be planted outdoors. The most suitable growth temperature is 10-25 degrees. The requirements for soil are relatively low, but the demand for light is relatively high.

How to cultivate foxglove

1. Temperature

Foxglove is relatively cold-resistant and is not suitable for growing in hot weather. When the temperature is too high in summer, you should pay attention to lowering the temperature to ensure it is below 35 degrees so that foxglove can bloom smoothly.

2. Watering

Foxglove is relatively drought-resistant and can survive even in arid environments, but a humid environment is conducive to the growth of foxglove. During daily maintenance, you can also spray water mist to keep it moist.

3. Soil

Foxglove has very low requirements for soil, but it grows better in acidic soil that is rich in humus, loose and fertile, and has good drainage and air permeability.

4. Lighting

Foxglove has a relatively high demand for light. In spring, autumn and winter, it can be maintained in full sunlight. In the summer when the light is relatively strong, shade measures are needed.

Precautions for the maintenance of foxglove

When caring for foxglove, you should pay attention to fertilization. During the growth period of foxglove, you need to apply 1-2 times of decomposed organic fertilizer every month. In this way, the foxglove will grow more luxuriantly, and some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be added before the flowering period of foxglove.
