Osmanthus can be grown in the north. This plant has a strong ability to adapt to the environment. However, when the weather in the north is too cold, appropriate warming measures must be taken for the osmanthus trees to prevent the plants from being frostbitten.

Osmanthus fragrans mostly grows in subtropical climate areas. It likes a warm climate environment, the annual average temperature of the planting area should be 14-28℃, and the planting environment should be ventilated and light-permeable. The main production areas in my country are Sichuan, southern Shaanxi, Guangdong, Yunnan, Guangxi and other provinces.

How to grow osmanthus in the north

1. Fertilization: When osmanthus sprouts, it needs to be fertilized with decomposed cake fertilizer water every 10 days. In July, compound organic fertilizer should be applied, and in September, phosphorus fertilizer should be added to promote better flowering of the plants.

2. Light: Osmanthus likes sunlight. During the flower bud differentiation period of the plant, the daily light exposure time should not be less than 8 hours. If there is insufficient light in winter, it may cause the plant to shed leaves and affect its normal growth.

3. Water: Water osmanthus less on cloudy and rainy days, and water more when the weather is dry. The amount of watering should be determined according to the condition of the soil. Try not to let water accumulate in the potting soil. In the hot summer weather, you can water the plant once in the morning and evening.
