How to grow pepper seedlings

How to grow pepper seedlings

1. Seed processing

The time for seedling cultivation is generally selected in mid-to-late February in spring, which is very helpful for the success of seedling cultivation. After collecting the seeds, expose them to sunlight for about 2 days to kill the germs outside. You can also use chemical methods and soak them in disinfectant solution for 20-30 minutes, then wash off the outside solution, soak them in warm water, and take them out after 8-12 hours. Prepare a piece of gauze, place the seeds on it, and place it in a warm place.

2. Seedbed Selection

The soil for the seedbed can be mixed with garden soil and river sand to ensure normal ventilation. It must be disinfected before use to avoid the presence of pathogens or pests.

3. Seeding and Seedling Raising

Mix the seeds with fine sand, then spread them evenly on the seedbed, cover them with a layer of fine soil about 0.5-1 cm thick, and cover them with a film to keep them warm and moist. Spray water on the soil regularly to keep it moist, and place it in a diffuse light environment to promote germination.

4. Performing Transplantation

Once the plant has grown a few small leaves, it can be transplanted. Remove some of the weaker ones and transplant the remaining strong seedlings into the soil.
