How and when to plant roses

Rose planting time

When planting roses, it is best to choose a warm and comfortable season, such as around March in spring. This is the most suitable season for planting, but if the temperature is a little warmer it will be better for its growth. It is best to choose a drier potting soil for planting, as the survival rate is higher. Although planting in March is best, planting in July is also a good choice.

Planting Roses in Spring

Around March in spring is the best season to plant roses. It is suitable to plant them in dry, well-drained potting soil. After planting, its survival rate will become very high.

Planting Roses in Summer

It is more suitable to plant roses in July in summer. Its branches will adapt quickly if planted at this time, and they will survive faster after planting than in March.

Planting Roses in Fall

September is the best time to plant roses in autumn. Do not water them for a week after planting. Wait until the soil in the pot is a little dry before watering the pot. At this time, water thoroughly at once so that the bottom of the branches can also absorb water.

Planting Roses in Winter

It is best to plant roses around March in winter. The winter is cold, so you should choose cold-resistant varieties. You can plant them in a greenhouse in winter, and their flowering period will become very long.

Rose Planting Methods

1. Sowing: Prepare loose and fertile soil in advance. You can use garden soil and humus soil. Soak the seeds in warm water for six hours first, then choose a sunny day to plant it in a flowerpot. Keep the potting soil moist, sprinkle a thin layer of soil on it, and place it in a sunny and well-ventilated place.

2. Management: After the rose buds grow up, they can be replanted in pots. In the first period of time, you should pay attention to keeping the soil moist and water it about once every two days. When the weather is hot, you can also use a spray bottle to spray some water mist on the leaves. Note that do not water too much in the later stage. Basically, do not water unless the soil is dry, and water thoroughly when you do.

3. Fertilizer: Use diluted organic fertilizer once every half a month, and use phosphorus and potassium fertilizer twice before flowering. This will make the rose grow better. The daily light time should not be less than six hours, so that the flowers will be more beautiful. If placed in a too dark place, it is easy to not bloom.
