The time for raising bell pepper seedlings is generally divided into spring and summer. In spring, plastic film is usually used for raising seedlings in mid-to-late March, while in summer, seedlings are raised from late April to early May.

How to sow bell peppers

When sowing bell peppers, you should choose suitable varieties, preferably greenhouse seeds with unlimited growth, such as the purple bell pepper of Purple Nobleman, which has been planted in northern greenhouses for many years, so it has excellent adaptability.

Specific method:

1. Seedling raising time: In fact, bell peppers can be planted all year round, but the best time is July to December. It is not advisable to sow too early, otherwise it will be affected by insect pests, and it will be difficult to survive the winter if sown too late.

2. Seedling medium: It is best to choose leaf mold for sowing bell peppers, and add a little compound fertilizer and carbendazim, etc. When planting, water it thoroughly.

3. Seed treatment: Bell peppers need to be treated before sowing. Soak the seeds in warm water, then wrap them in gauze and rinse them with warm water every day.

4. Post-sowing management: After the seedlings emerge, the temperature needs to be maintained at 20-30℃ during the day and 15-18℃ at night, and fertilizer and watering should be applied according to the situation.

Because the varieties of bell peppers are different, the harvest time is also different. Most bell peppers are sown at the end of June and can be harvested in November. It takes about 130 days from sowing to harvesting, and it takes more than 50 days from flowering to maturity.
