Cucumber fertilization time

Cucumbers can be fertilized during the germination stage, seedling stage, initial flowering stage, and fruiting stage, with top dressing applied every 7 to 10 days.

The first topdressing can be done when cucumbers enter the early stage of fruiting, mainly applying fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. After that, topdressing should be done once every 10 days when watering, for a total of 8-10 times.

What fertilizer is good for cucumbers

Cucumbers like fertilizer and are resistant to fertilizer. Sufficient base fertilizer needs to be applied before planting. The base fertilizer mainly uses decomposed chicken manure, pig manure, bean cake, bean flour, quail manure and rice husks and other organic fertilizers. They are rich in nutrients, can meet its growth needs, and can also improve the quality of cucumbers and enhance the resistance of soil and cucumbers to stress.

Cucumber fertilization method

Fertilization at the seedling stage : The configuration of the seedbed is very important. You can mix garden soil that has never been used to grow melons, river mud, decomposed manure, wood ash, and superphosphate thoroughly. If you find that there is a lack of fertilizer at the seedling stage, you can add diluted potassium nitrate, calcium nitrate, ammonium sulfate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and ferric chloride and spray them on the leaves.

Apply sufficient base fertilizer : Before planting cucumbers, base fertilizer needs to be applied. Generally, well-rotted organic fertilizer and superphosphate are applied per mu, which is conducive to seedling growth.

Soil topdressing : During the growth process of cucumber, topdressing is required 8 to 10 times. The first topdressing after the seedling stage is mainly slow-release organic fertilizer. After that, it is mainly accelerated-release fertilizer and human feces and urine to promote normal development and healthy growth of the fruit.

Cucumber fertilization precautions

Cucumbers need to be fertilized in stages. The amount used each time should not be too much, and raw fertilizer cannot be used. It needs to be fully decomposed. It is best to water once after fertilizing.
