How to transplant Areca palm

How to transplant Areca palm

1. Transplantation time

Transplantation is sometimes a necessary step. For example, if the plant becomes sick due to some disease or pest, the soil and pot must be replaced and it needs to be transplanted. For example, plants need to be repotted regularly. In addition to replacing the soil, if the size of the pot is not suitable, the pot must be replaced as well. At this time, transplantation is also required.

2. Transplantation Method

1. Prepare flower pots: Choose a pot of appropriate size according to the specific size of the plant, so that the plant has appropriate living space and grows well.

2. Prepare the substrate: Use a substrate that is breathable, nutritious, and easy to drain. For example, you can use peat soil, perlite, and expanded clay in a ratio of two to two to one.

3. Remove the plant from the pot: After the flower pot and substrate are prepared, you can take the plant out of the original pot. Be careful not to damage the roots as much as possible in the process. Then clean the soil at its roots. For plants infected by diseases, pests and insects, the soil must be cleaned up thoroughly without any residue; for plants that are simply repotted, this part of the soil can be retained. After cleaning, the roots must be pruned, and all old and bad roots must be cut off.

4. Transplantation: Place a portion of the substrate into the pot first, with a depth of about 2-3 cm. Then put the plant in and fill in the remaining substrate, flattening it with your hands. Then water it thoroughly, place it in a cool place, and take care of it slowly.
