Pu'er tea growing environment and conditions

Pu'er tea generally grows in mountains with an altitude of 1000-2100 meters and a slope of less than 25 degrees. It is suitable for growing in soils such as brick red soil, brick red soil, mountain red soil and mountain yellow soil. The soil organic matter content must be greater than 1%.

Pu'er tea is mainly produced in Menghai, Mengla, Pu'er, Gengma, Cangyuan, Shuangjiang, Lincang, Yuanjiang, Jingdong, Dali, Pingbian, Hekou, Maguan, Malipo, Wenshan, Xichou, Guangnan and Yongde in Yunnan.

Pu'er tea growing conditions

Pu'er tea prefers a humid environment, with an annual precipitation of about 1,500 mm. In areas with fog in the morning and evening and air humidity maintained at around 85%, the development of tea buds and the quality of tea leaves will be better. Long-term drought or high humidity are not suitable for the growth and cultivation of Pu'er tea.

Pu'er tea growing temperature

Pu'er tea likes warmth and is not cold-resistant. The suitable growth temperature is between 18-25 degrees. Of course, different varieties have different adaptability to temperature, but you must take good warming measures in winter.

The growth process of Pu'er tea

The growth process of Pu'er tea mainly includes four stages: seedling stage, juvenile stage, adult stage and senescence stage. The seedling stage is when the tea tree sprouts seedlings and the first growth stop occurs. The juvenile stage is from the first growth stop to the initial flowering and fruiting. The adult stage is from the initial flowering and fruiting to the first natural renewal. Later, it enters the senescence stage.

Pu'er tea planting time and method

Pu'er tea is suitable for planting from November to late March of the following year and before and after the rainy season. Different tea areas have different planting times. Try to choose cloudy days or after rain to facilitate survival.
