What fertilizer is good for Chinese toon trees?

Overview of Fertilization for Toona sinensis

Chinese toon likes to grow in a warm environment and is best planted in areas with an average temperature of 8-10℃. Its cold resistance increases with the age of the seedlings. One-year-old seedlings sown directly from seeds may freeze at minus 10℃.

When planting Chinese toon, you can use farmyard manure, or you can use compound fertilizer. Dig a hole 20-45 cm away from the roots of the tree and apply fertilizer. Do not use urea.

What fertilizer is good for Chinese toon tree?

When fertilizing Chinese toon, the demand for potassium fertilizer is the highest. For every 300 square meters of land in the greenhouse, the base fertilizer can be 2,500 kg of fully decomposed farmyard manure and 3-6 kg each of diammonium carbonate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate.

1. Base fertilizer : The base fertilizer of Chinese toon trees is generally based on slow-acting organic fertilizers. You can also mix it with an appropriate amount of quick-acting nitrogen fertilizers to increase its fertilizer effect.

2. Top dressing : For camphor trees, you can apply an appropriate amount of compound fertilizer, depending on the age of the tree and its growth conditions. Generally, for young trees, if the base fertilizer is sufficient, a small amount of top dressing is required once.

How to fertilize the Chinese toon tree

In actual fertilization of camphor trees, the most commonly used methods are ring ditch, radial ditch, hole fertilization or whole-garden fertilization by spreading and turning the soil. Generally, the hole fertilization method should not be used. Fertilization can be combined with decomposed soil and miscellaneous fertilizers. When using ring ditch or radial ditch fertilization, do not apply fertilizer too close to the large roots or too deep.

When fertilizing camphor trees, alkaline fertilizers cannot be mixed with acidic fertilizers. For example, ammonium nitrate, ammonium phosphate, ammonium carbonate, and ammonium sulfate cannot be mixed with alkaline fertilizers such as kiln ash potassium fertilizer, lime, and wood ash.
