Sugarcane can be planted in both spring and autumn. The spring planting time is from February to April, and the latest planting time should not exceed April. The autumn planting time is from August to September, and it is best to start planting in late August. It is mainly cultivated in Guangdong, Hainan, Sichuan and Yunnan in my country.

Sugarcane planted in spring matures and goes on the market in May-July, and sugarcane planted in autumn matures and goes on the market in December. The yield per mu in the northern region is generally 10,000-20,000 kilograms, and the average yield per mu in Guangxi can reach more than 4 tons.

Sugarcane planting steps and methods

1. Pole treatment: Before planting, the selected high-quality poles need to be washed 2-3 times with clean water, then soaked in warm water at 18-23 degrees for 20-30 minutes, then soaked in sterilizing liquid for 25-29 seconds for disinfection, and finally soaked in chemical solution for 10-15 hours, then removed and drained;

2. Land preparation: Choose fertile, loose and well-drained soil. First sprinkle water on the surface of the soil, then disinfect and deep plow to a depth of 10-18 cm. Expose the soil to the sun, then repeat the watering and disinfection work 2-3 times. After completion, cover the soil with sacks for 8-12 days.

3. Sowing: Each pole is planted with a spacing of 12 cm in front and back and a row spacing of 90 cm. The depth of the soil hole is 8-15 cm. After planting, spray with clean water twice, with an interval of 10-18 minutes.
